Man wanted after alleged abduction and assault of child

John Adam Greene is considered armed and dangerous

Hamilton police are appealing for tips from the public to locate a man who is facing charges after a child was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted by a stranger.

Staff Sgt. George Narozniak told the child is safe.

Police said they began investigating the allegations Saturday when they were called to a Sanford Avenue address.

They would not reveal the gender or age of the child or any specific details about how he or she was abducted or where the incident occurred. They also declined to explain how the child was recovered.

In a news release, police said they are looking for 29-year-old John Adam Greene, who is considered armed and dangerous.

Police are asking people not to approach Greene if they encounter him.

He is facing charges of abduction, aggravated sexual assault, sexual interference, assaulting causing bodily harm, assault and threatening death.

Anyone with any information about Greene’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
