This October, Ajax will become the first GTA community to go paperless for its municipal election.

Ajax will offer up advance voting by phone and online and on election day, balloting will be done on a computer terminal, rather than on paper.

Officials with the Durham Region town say the choice was made to go paperless because the move is better for the environment and more convenient.
