Oakville sailing coach arrest in a sex assault investigation

A 31 year old sail boat racing coach, is now facing 16 charges in a sexual assault investigation, that stretched across most of the province.

Halton Regional Police say Sean Hewson from Ancaster volunteered as a coach over the last 10 years and is currently the head of the sailing school at the Bronte Harbour Yacht Club in the Town of Oakville.

Cops say they they were originally contacted by four victims who were members of the Burlington Sailing and Boating Club.

They claim they were sexually assaulted between the ages of 13 and 16, and that the alleged incidents spanned from Burlington, Oakville, Nepean and Kingston.

Police believe there could be more victims out there.

Hewson is facing 16 total charges, including Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference,  Invitation to Sexual Touching and Sexual Exploitation.

He's been held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday.

    Sean Hewson is my racing sailing coach this year for the boat 420's I sincerely believe that he would never do anything like this he is a great, awesome guy and don't judge him by what this article describes him as.

    I'm on the same sailing team as Kyle and I agree all this stuff is total bull and no one has a clue what they r talking about. U wouldn't be sailing any of this if u actually new who he was
