One person is dead and three others are hurt after a shooting in the east end.

Shots rang out outside a home on Walpole Ave near Greenwood Ave and Gerrard St E. just before 9 p.m. Saturday.

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead on scene and three other men in their 20s ended up in hospital. One of them has since been released.

Det Sgt Gary Giroux, on scene this morning, tells Newstalk 1010 that the man killed has been identified as Douglas Parker, someone who was known to police.

He says the three other victims are "friends or associates" of Parker.

Giroux is calling this a targetted attack.

"I think the reason for the number of injured is that they were standing in close proximity of the deceased person and that's how they were injured themselves," he says.

Officers are looking for one outstanding suspect but they do not have a description. They're also canvassing the area, looking for any discarded weapons.

Any witnesses are being asked to come forward.
