Councillor Doug Ford says his brother "looks fabulous" and is doing well in rehab.

Mayor Rob Ford has been at an addiction treatment facility in Muskoka for almost a month.

"He's a lost a lot of weight and he's doing really well, said he's feeling healthier than he ever has," councillor Ford says, adding that he went to visit his brother on Sunday.

The mayor is getting counseling everyday and going to meeting each night, according to councillor Ford.

The councillor says the mayor will "absolutely" be back in time at city hall in time for the election, "hopefully" in the next four or five weeks.

"The race hasn't started until he gets in," councillor Ford says.

As for whether he thinks his brother can stay sober when he leaves the centre, Ford says he is confident his brother will come out a "new man."

"He's going to look at all the mistakes he's done in the past and move forward in a positive fashion."
