Dump truck driver charged in crash on Eastbound 401

Police say seven cars involved with four people suffering minor injuries...

Provincial Police have charged the driver of a dump truck, in connection with a crash that closed the 401-427 ramp to Eglinton Avenue on Thursday morning.

Cops say at around 8:45,  a Mack dump truck collided with a car, and then slammed into another five vehicles before coming to a rest on the left shoulder of the ramp.  

A 41 year old woman from Thornhill, a 58 year old man from Aurora and a 41 year old man from Newmarket were all taken to hospital with various injuries. They are all expected to live.

The driver of the truck, 60 year old Bruce Reynolds from Port McNicholl has been charged with careless driving, and will be in court on July 15th.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the collision to give them a call.
