There are reports that the L.A. Clippers are on the verge of being sold.

The club went on the market after the NBA disciplined owner Donald Sterling after racist comments he allegedly made, caught on tape.

The L.A. Times is reporting that the lawyer for Sterling has been notified that the club has been sold to Steve Ballmer for $2 Billion.  Ballmer was the former CEO of Microsoft.

Steve Kyler of basketballinsiders.com says this deal has been in the works for the "last little while."

It's not clear whether Sterling, or the NBA has given the thumbs up on the sale.
