Mayor Rob Ford says he "misses" the people of Toronto and is "excited" to get back to city hall.

In an interview with the Toronto Sun, the mayor confirmed that he wants to be out of rehab on June 30 to attend events on Canada Day, something you first heard on Newstalk 1010 on Friday.

Ford tells Sun columnist and Newstalk 1010 host Joe Warmington that people will see "a different Rob Ford" when he returns.

The mayor says it has been a challenge to be away from his family.

Mayor Ford has been at an addiction treatment centre since taking a leave of absence in late April.

He says he is getting better but that there is more work to do before he can come back.

I thought he was going to come back in 30 days. It seems he will avoid World Pride and be back in time for Canada Day while the SUN continues to shill for him...

@Sonny Is that the best you have? Who gives a damn about watching sickos and their perversions. My generation is the last that knows right from wrong.

@Sonny Hmmm....ok. So if I see what ur saying:

*He doesn't go to rehab, he's a liar.
*He goes to rehab, its not the right one
*He stays less than 30 days, he's not serious
*He stays more than 30 days, there's an ulterior motive afoot (i.e missing the Pride parade)

The man just cannot win with you people no matter what he does

the real idiots here are us. for giving this family of fools any more of our time or attention. his biggest challenge which he doesn't realize yet but will very soon is what will he do with the rest of his life after politics

OK but how are you handling your addiction, Rob? This isn't just something you have to put time into to give the appearance of taking responsibility for yourself. Are you still jonesing for crack? Alcohol? Were you ever? Addiction is a life-long struggle and can't be cured in 30 days. They can give you the tools to cope but it is up to you to use them.

Now we know why he was in Walmart over the weekend: to buy a Speedo for this convenient photo op, intended to convince us he's in a rehab.

@Sonny █He is also addicted to lying, drugs, booze, bad company, and vulgar abusive language█A pathetic example for the rest of society█

█Rob Ford deserves to be in the 'where are they now' file█
█He is just a distraction and a circus taking away attention from more important city events█ It is time for John Tory to lead this city█

Well, it is so nice to see the I-Hate-Rob-Ford Guild is still alive and kicking

*He doesn't go to rehab, he's a liar.
*He goes to rehab, its not the right one
*He stays less than 30 days, he's not serious
*He stays more than 30 days, there's an ulterior motive afoot (i.e missing the Pride parade)
*He doesn't come back to politics- it will show he has a more serious problem than he was letting on
*He comes back to politics- that shouldn't be because rehab from addictions is supposed to take longer.

The man just cannot win with you people no matter what he does. I would say "you should be ashamed of yourselves" but you people have little-to-no dignity to begin with.
