McGuinty interviewed in gas plant investigation: REPORT

OPP has served court order for records at Queen's Park

The Ottawa Citizen is reporting that the OPP has served a court order at Queens Park for key records in the gas plant scandal, and confirmed investigators have interviewed former Premier Dalton McGuinty in the case.

Investigators tell the paper the court order was requested after 'a handful of police interviews,' including one with McGuinty in April.

Queen's Park staff have 10 days to hand over the records to police.

It's not clear what the OPP anti-rackets squad asked for.

Because of the timing of the request, the information won't be made public until after the election next Thursday.

An excellent reminder that the Liberal Party of Ontario are criminals, and cannot be trusted with our economy.

The Liberal Provincial Police have asked for key documents? They actually believe there are any documents left? What a suprise, the information won't be made public to after the election. Sure didn't see that coming. What a coincidence! I'm suprised the Liberal Provincial Police have had time to investigate, aren't they working on their next commercial?

@█Alèx█ I wasn't aware that rob ford and senators were running in the provincial election. Your comments regarding a mayor and a federal matter justify voting for a party that has wasted billions of dollars and constantly lies to the people of Ontario? Great thinking!

@█Alèx█ Don't forget Mulroney and his paper bags full of cash.

Political scandals in Canada trace their beginnings to the Conservatives - the first one being the Gerda Munsinger dalliances with Conservative cabinet ministers George Hees and Pierre Sévigny during the Diefenbaker years.

IMO this is just for optics. Now that we all know the true colours of the OPP, we can now also assume that they have no interest in bringing down the corrupt liberals. After all, we all know they are guilty.

Like I have said many times, over the past 10 years the corrupt liberals have nurtured relationships with the piggy public sector unions and the selfish piggy workers by feeding them until they are bloated. This allows the corrupt liberals to go into every election with these pigs on their side. Therefore, all the corrupt liberals need to do is to convince a few idiots ( like Alex ) to vote for them.

This spells doom for the rest of us who will need to tolerate the well paid pigs while we deal with hundreds of billions in debt and endless tax increases by a government who has yet to administer anything properly.

    RE today's online poll question.

Please, if you have not made up your mind who to vote for, or if you don’t think you will know for sure until you are standing in the voting booth, THEN STAY HOME. YOU ARE IDIOTS.

@Mark I encourage all Ontario voters to boycott this election. I am and hope many will join me. It's time we told the politicians that we've had enough...we're not idiots and refuse to play their dumb game.

In regards to HP's juvenile suggestion, "boycotting" the election will accomplish nothing. If you want to send the Liberals a message that you won't stand for their attempts to destroy Ontario, vote for the PCs. If you want to send ALL of the parties a message, vote for the Green party or whatever other fringe party is on your area's ballot.

@Jack Not juvenile but very mature and responsible. Very low voter turnout not only sends a very strong message to the politicians but also questions the legitimacy of whatever government is elected. It's a proven tactic in countries where politicians are corrupt and elections are fixed. Sadly, Ontario's government and politicians are now at the level of many Third World countries where boycotting elections is the only way the people can voice their concerns.

The only time you hear from the politicians is when they're trying to buy our votes. After the election they show nothing but contempt to those that elected them.

I encourage everyone to send the bums a strong message that none of them are worth our time, respect, and support. It's all a game, anyway.

@HP Name even one time that low voter turnout has been anything more than a footnote in Canadian politics. "Questioning legitimacy" is not good enough, particularly when the Liberals and NDP have time and again demonstrated their utter lack of respect for what taxpayers actually want or think.

The only effective way to tell the Liberals we've had enough is to make sure they don't take office again. The only way to do that is to get behind that voting screen and put your X next to any name but the Liberal candidate's.

@Jack You miss my point...I'm not talking about telling the Liberals anything, I'm saying that all politicians and their parties need to be old that I'm fed up with all of them. It's not about wasting my vote, it's all about not voting for any of them.
