Mother confirms slain RCMP officer is her son

The mother of a Moncton RCMP officers confirms that Cst. Dave Ross was killed Wednesday evening

The identities of the 3 RCMP officers killed in Moncton, New Brunswick haven't been officially released, but the mother of Cst. Dave Ross says her son is one of the dead.

Ross was married and had a 19-month old child. His wife Rachel is pregnant with their second baby, and she is due in September.

It was Ross' mother who spoke to CBC in New Brunswick and the Toronto Star, confirming that he was among the dead. She called it "the most horrifying, difficult experience" of their lives.

Ross was a native of Victoriaville, Quebec and had lived in New Brunswick for seven years.

As of Thursday evening, police in Moncton continued to search for their prime suspect in the shooting spree. He is identified as 24-year old Justin Bourque.
