UPDATE: Tornado warning ended for St. Catharines, Niagara and Grimsby

Environment Canada issued the warning shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday

Some stormy weather could have spawn tornadic activity in Ontario Wednesday night.

Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for St. Catharines, Northern Niagara Region and Grimsby around 11 p.m. Thursday.

The agency said its' meteorologists were tracking a thunderstorm located just northwest of Fenwick, that was possibly producing a tornado.

The agency replaced that warning with a severe thunderstorm warning around 11:30 p.m. and says the risk of a tornado is minimal.
