WATCH: Arrests Made in Armoured Truck Heist

Toronto Police conduct early-morning raids connected to armoured truck heist at Fairview Mall back in January.

Toronto police have charged 11 people after a series of raids, four of them in connection with the robbery of an armoured truck in the parking lot of Fairview Mall on January 20th.

Newstalk 1010 told you first that the early-morning searches Thursday were part of "Project Nose Dive"

Toronto Police officers conducted a number of early-morning raids in the Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue area as well as in Markham.

Police say the seven other people arrested are not directly related to the armoured car investigation, but are facing drug and weapons charges.

Police have also charged one of the suspects connected with the heist and another man with a street robbery in May.

Those charged in connection with the amoured truck robbery are:

Zunaed Kabir, 24, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Discharge firearm with intent

2) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence (Armed Robbery)

3) Robbery while armed with a firearm

4) Disguise with intent

5) Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

6) Unauthorized possession of firearm

7) Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition

8) Careless use of a firearm

9) Point firearm

10) Use firearm in the commission of an offence

11) Robbery while armed with a firearm

12) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence [Trafficking in a Controlled Substance]

13) Possession for the purpose marijuana (Schedule II)

14) Possession for the purpose cocaine (Schedule I)

15) Possession of cocaine (Schedule I)

16) Possession proceeds


Ram Singh Bisht, 24, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Discharge firearm with intent

2) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence (Armed Robbery)

3) Robbery while armed with a firearm

4) Disguise with intent

5) Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

6) Unauthorized possession of firearm

7) Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition

8) Careless use of a firearm

9) Point firearm

10) Use firearm in the commission of an offence

11) Robbery while armed with a firearm

12) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence [Trafficking in a Controlled Substance]


Jeremy Metyas, 21, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Discharge firearm with intent

2) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence (Armed Robbery)

3) Robbery while armed with a firearm

4) Disguise with intent

5) Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

6) Unauthorized possession of firearm

7) Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition

8) Careless use of a firearm

9) Point Firearm

10) Use firearm in the commission of an offence

11) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence [Trafficking in a Controlled Substance]


William Rebeiz, 22, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Discharge firearm with intent

2) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence (Armed Robbery)

3) Robbery while armed with a firearm

4) Disguise with intent

5) Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

6) Unauthorized possession of firearm

7) Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition

8) Careless use of a firearm

9) Point firearm

10) Use firearm in the commission of an offence

11) Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence [Trafficking in a

Controlled Substance]

12) Possession of marijuana (Schedule II)

13) Possession proceeds


Police seized a number of drugs including marijuana, cocaine, hashish, psylocybin, and MDMA. 

Canadian currency and three replica handguns were also seized during the raids.

Investigators recovered a .45 cal handgun when they searched the getaway vehicle that was ditched on the night of the robbery not far from Fairview Mall.

It was just last month when the Toronto Police Hold Up Squad released video of the robbery and shootout between the armoured guards and two male suspects.  Police also released details on a silver Dodge Caravan that was purchased for cash just days before the robbery.

A reward of $10,000 was also put up by the armoured truck company.

    Poor fools. They could have just joined the Liberal party of Ontario and stolen money from taxpayers. Or better yet, they should have become public sector union leaders.
