GTA drivers faced a record high price at the pumps on Saturday with prices spiking to 141.9 per litre for regular.

That is the highest price the GTA has paid for gas, beating the previous May 2011 high of 141.1.

Part of the price hike is blamed on rising oil prices thanks to unrest in Iraq.

At the gas station on the corner of Bloor and Keele Streets, drivers told Newstalk 1010 that they were frustrated and some even admitted to changing summer plans becuase of the prices.

In an informal poll on the Newsatalk 1010 website, we asked if it was enough to avoid driving. As of 6 p.m., 48 per cent of people said they plan to just grin and bear it.
