Radio legend Casey Kasem has died

American Top 40 host was 82

Casey Kasem, former radio deejay, has died at 82 years old.

The American Top 40 host passed away early Sunday morning.

Kasem was known for his trademark easy-going, comforting and knowledgeable hosting style who was beloved by countless radio listeners.

He had suffered from dementia and Parkinson's disease in recent years.

The radio legend's daughter Kerri won a battle with her stepmother Jean to become her father's caretaker in his final days.

She tweeted that he was surrounded by family and friends when he died.
