UPDATE: Mayor Rob Ford Will Return to Work June 30th

Newstalk 1010 has learned that the mayor has informed the City Clerk of his return.

Newstalk 1010 has learned that Mayor Rob Ford plans to return to his duties on the afternoon of June 30th.  The mayor has sent a letter to the City Clerk announcing his return and asking that his office be made available to him.

Newstalk 1010 has got its hands on that letter(see below).

Mayor Rob Ford has been in a Bracebridge rehab facility since April 30th as he deals with his alcohol and drug problems.

Ford checked himself into rehab after new video and audio recordings surfaced in late April of an intoxicated Ford making lewd comments about his wife and fellow mayoral candidate Karen Stintz.  In the video the mayor is smoking from a pipe.  Ford admitted late last year that a video reportedly showing him smoking crack-cocaine was likely taken during one of his "drunken stupors".  The mayor admitted in November that he had smoked crack after denying the allegations for months.

Funny how Ford timed his come back for the day AFTER World Pride finishes but just before Canada Day - ever the politician. And I was so enjoying the quiet time.

@Denise Howe If he says he's going to rehab, he lying.
If he comes back to early, he isn't taking the rehab seriously enough.
If he stays longer than he should, its some hidden agenda.

Nothing will ever satisfy you people.

Rob don't do it brother! move on with your life decide what you want to do with the rest of it. If you really love this city you'll move on. politics is over for the Ford family.
Also you write like a 5 yr old
  3. justsaying posted on 06/17/2014 09:58 AM
He's irrelevant. We have all moved on. His time away was a good one for the city. Hope he feels better and is on the road to being healthy. Time for him to move onto something new and away from city hall. And his chances or re-election? - nil.

@justsaying He'll likely stroll in 2pm in the aft. as usual. There are voters that will support him... The fact that the Cons were shut out in Toronto does not bode well for conservatives again...

@Karl Burgin The Libs got four more years which does not bode well for the several Con mayoral candidates where Thomson is the Lib?!

@Sonny Do not respond to the parasite fake donny p.- who doesn't have a single thought in his skull. But loves leeching off of others.

      Do not feed the troll.

Ah, yes ... the return of Rob Ford to the position of mayor-in-name-only

    > Will arrive just after World Pride (convenient)
    > Will arrive just before Canada Day festivities (convenient)
    > Will arrive 4 to 5 hours into the working day (typical)
    > Will leave after 2 or 3 hours of (no) "work" (typical)
    > Will declare he's fit and able to be the mayor again (in-name-only)
    > Karl Burgin, john and a few others will be glad he's (sort of) back
    > 85% of Torontonians won't give a damn

Rob ... please go away ... it's been a welcome relief not having you around.

@Fact Provider It would be a bigger relief if you did not post your stupidity on this forum.

      @Mark7 This from whom ?

      Mark (I am only 7) ?
Mark (my IQ is 7) ?

Are you over the Con spanking yet ?
    3. Mark7 posted on 06/17/2014 03:43 PM
@Fact Provider Nothing for me to "get over", son. I am used to you pinheads who have voted criminal Fiberal all my life. So how is your buying power and taxes been? Oh Brother, some just never learn. Bahahaha

ps...A -1 IQ is needed to vote for a party that DOUBLED our deficit, criminally tried to hide that they STOLE BILLIONS from us to buy seats, to always do the exact opposite of their platforms for election.....

Sorry little one, I have not got a year to post all the ways we take it up the ying yang because of leftie SCUMBAGS.

@Mark7 That's quite the puddle of self-pity in which you're wallowing, Contard.

Dry your tears, pull up your short pants, and get over your delusion.

      You lost !!
    5. justsaying posted on 06/17/2014 04:09 PM
@Fact Provider mark - stay on topic. The Provincial Election is over. We are talking about Municipal Politics now. The Fords are done, as is your kind delusional thinking.

And if you don't like to pay taxes, move. We don't need your Tea Party selfish thinking gumming up the works.

You probably pay all your workmen under the table so as not to contribute to the tax-base - and then complain about it. Typical Troll.
    6. Mark7 posted on 06/18/2014 10:10 AM
@Fact Provider No, with your reply to me that you use often replying to many, you just lost. A typical leftie coward who will not reply about the criminal Fiberal atrocities.

You just lost $1000's more by voting them in sheep, get over it.

    7. Karl Burgin posted on 06/18/2014 10:24 AM
@justsaying Yes, you are right JUSTSAYING.
The blind sheeple has spoken, and now are like lambs to the slaughter after the Liberals are finished with us.

But back to the topic at hand. Rob Ford is literally the last bastion of hope in this province. Given the amount of people I've heard on both AM 640 and CFRB 1010 that were flabbergasted that the Liberals were able to win (by a majority no less), it is going to be revenge time when the municipal elections come around.
The silent majority are going to make Liberal voters pay for giving Wynne 4 more years at the helm- by "reflex voting" for Rob Ford. Its happened before when people cried for a change after Miller left. It will happen here again too.

The amount of backlash I see on this forum, hating on Ford, only speaks of one thing: they (and you) are scared that he might actually make a comeback.

      Ford More Years...
    8. Karl Burgin posted on 06/18/2014 10:32 AM
@Fact Provider On the contrary, we all lost when the Liberals got a majority.

This was not about winning or losing. This election was supposed to be about saving Ontario. That cannot, nor will not happen under a Liberal government. Right now you are too blind too see it- and I can only hope you realize that fact soon enough.

Remember, Ontario USED to be considered the economic engine of Canada. Now it is considered the ball-and-chain. We got this title under 11 years of Liberal government.

So please don't critique MARK7 or others when they mourn that the state of Ontario will not be changing anytime soon. People of all party affiliations will pay the high price of a Liberal majority in one form or another- that I promise you.

    Cue the music...

Ta ta dun.. ta ta ta.. ta ta ta.. - Rocky theme..

The debate will be interesting now.. he might even audition for the Rob Ford - Ford Nation Musical....

July 1, is the day that any screw up will be the end of his political comeback....

@dama Wrong song, right idea. "Lets Do The Time Warp Again" from Rocky Horror is more suitable.

@dama it's all ready over Dama. Over a long time ago.
Most see it except him and his brother.
Now it's just really the ego trip taking over to torment the city more but it's just a sad sad troubled person with nothing to turn to trying to cling to something that's gone.
    3. justsaying posted on 06/17/2014 04:03 PM
      @AC AC - that's quite deep.
    4. Karl Burgin posted on 06/18/2014 10:16 AM
@AC You wish it was over.

But you are secretly panicking, because of the possibility of Ford making a come-back.
      Sweet dreams.

I wonder how many bars in Toronto -especially in the Royal York/Dundas area- have $2 pools set up to bet on timing of the big goofs next meltdown. I give it less than two weeks. The man is beyond help. He always was. He was born that way -just like he was born with more money than God. The idea that a month at a spa is going to turn Rob Ford into a normal human being is an insult to the intelligence of normal human beings.
    1. Karl Burgin posted on 06/18/2014 10:26 AM
@danieljchristie was an actual rehab- and he stayed longed than he said he would.

But you're ignorance to the fact is noted.

Rob Ford is the best thing that has ever happened to Toronto.
We could use a thousand of them to clean up this city and this province.
In fact if we could elect him as Prime Minister of Canada then this gravy train would derail and the country would become hot spot of the world!

    Toronto NEEDS Ford!
    1. justsaying posted on 06/18/2014 11:23 AM
@This Is What You Wanted No, Rob Ford's ideas on how to run this city are all bunk. Every candidate has better ideas than anything Ford has proposed...other than JACKING UP MY Property Tax bill to fund a two-stop Subway to help a few people in Scarborough (talk about GRAVY), he has put forward NOTHING.

Time to put up some new and important ideas - or political death awaits for the Fords. And they better be pretty awesome or it's over.
    2. This Is What You Wanted posted on 06/18/2014 11:33 AM
@justsaying Rob is gong to kick butt this time and send all these Lieberals to the doctors office as part of his clean Toronto enema program.
This city needs someone to keep the gravy train from stationing here and Rob knows how to get things moving and get things done.

Rob and Doug are the DYNAMIC DUO!

It appears he forgot about his family Canada Day vacation in the Muskokas where his rehab is. Are taxpayers paying for the 2 way trip 3 times in a week?
