We now know more about the reasons behind a manhunt in Markham Wednesday afternoon.
Two schools near Major Mackenzie and Woodbine were locked down as police and the canine unit hunted for a suspect that eluded police and may have been armed during a high risk take down.
Three suspects were arrested, but the fourth got away.
York Regional Police announced Thursday that the three men face charges and are alleged to have carried about a "significant" number of GTA home robberies in Toronto, Peel Region, and York Region.
Police aren't saying much about how they came to locate the suspects but plainclothes officers and cops from Toronto and Peel came across them before 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Kurt Downer, 32, of Toronto, Harun Murad, 31, of Mississauga, and Maurice Beckles, 31, of no fixed address, face a number of charges including break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of restricted firearms.
The fourth suspect is still on the loose and is described as a black male last seen wearing a dark blue shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call York Regional Police at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7241.
