There were some technical difficulties, but the rainbow flag has now been raised at Queen's Park as Canada's first openly gay premier watched on.
On the first attempt to hoist the flag up the pole, it fell off. Staff scrambled to put a back up in place and just moments later, it was blowing in the wind.
Wynne addressed the crowd of more than 100 people on the front lawn of the legislature, proud that that fact that she's gay didn't figure prominently over the last month in an election campaign.
She says she doesn't believe the people of Ontario hold prejudice in their hearts.
The crowd cheered at Wynne's almost every statement. There were even claps and laughs after Wynne mentioned there were volunteers in place at Provincial Parks to make sure the LGBT community feels comfortable going camping, then smiled about there being "so many lesbian and gay jokes" in that statement.
