Road closures for Canada Day events

If you're planning on driving around town today, keep in mind that there are several Canada Day events taking place, affecting city streets.

If you're planning on driving around town today, keep in mind that there are several Canada Day events taking place, affecting city streets. 

Here is a list of road closures: 

Scarborough Canada Day Parade

The following road closures will run from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.:
Brimley Road, from Progress Avenue to Ellesmere Road
Omni Drive, from Brimley Road to Borough Drive

The following road closures will run from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.:
Brimley Road, from Progress Avenue to Lawrence Avenue East

Parade route formation area will start at 4 p.m.:
Brimley Road, from Progress Avenue to Ellesmere Road
Southbound from Brimley Road
Dispersal area will be Brimley Road, north of Lawrence Avenue East (at Thompson Memorial park)

East York Canada Day Parade

The parade formation will begin at 9 a.m., along Cosburn Avenue, from Dieppe Park.

The parade route is as follows:
Formation Area: Cosburn Avenue (south side) at Dieppe Park
- eastbound on Cosburn Avenue
- southbound on Coxwell Avenue
- eastbound on Sammon Avenue
- northbound on Woodbine Avenue

Dispersal area is eastbound on Trenton Avenue for marching participants as well as the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot at Woodbine Avenue and O'Connor Drive.

Queen's Park Canada Day festivities

Queen’s Park Circle from College Street to Hoskin Avenue from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Mel Lastman Square Canada Day festivities

The southbound lanes of Yonge St will be closed from North York Blvd to Park Home Ave from noon until 11 p.m.

A full closure of Yonge St in that area will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
