Man critically hurt after being struck by car in Markham

This happened Tuesday night at Markham Road and 16th Avenue

A man was been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car in Markham.

It was around 10:45 Tuesday evening, when he was hit at Markham Road and 16th Avenue.

Officials at Ornge confirm the man was in his 30's and suffered critical injuries. He was taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to Sunnybrook in Toronto.

York police closed the intersection for their investigation, but have since re-opened it.
