Mortars fired at Israel during humanitarian cease-fire

It happened during a 5-hour agreed cease-fire that would allow people to get food and water

Israel police say two rockets were fired from Gaza during a humanitarian cease-fire.

Israel and Hamas began observing a five-hour humanitarian cease-fire on Thursday, after fighting raged until moments before the start of the pause and Israel vowed it would retaliate if Hamas breaks the calm.

The twitter account for Israel Defense Forces claims 3 mortars were fired, "While we held our fire, Hamas terrorists fired 3 mortars that hit the Israeli community of Eshkol"

Palestinian officials said at least three people were killed in the southern Gaza town of Rafah when an Israeli tank shell hit a house. And, Israel's military said it thwarted an attack by more than a dozen Gaza militants who tunnelled under the border.

The pause comes on the 10th day of fighting that has seen Israel carry out more than a thousand air strikes on the embattled Palestinian territory as Hamas has fired a similar number of rockets into Israel.

The cross-border fighting has so far killed more than 230 Palestinians and one Israeli, according to officials.

All Israel has wanted to do since 1948 was prevent its destruction. Twist it any way you want to, but that is the basis for this all - that Israel has the gall to want to exist peacefully.

Who is waging war on who?

@Bill R Based on your rationale it's who suffers the most losses vs who started it, who's aiming rockets at civilians, who's the terrorist organization.

If terrorists hijack a plane and no one dies but all the terrorists die, I guess you'd suggest the police and passengers were waging war on terrorists.

      Great logic!
