Cow back in pasture after wandering through lanes of traffic

An animal first reported to be a bull (but later determined to be a cow) caused a stir Friday when it got loose north of Vaughan and was spotted in live lanes of traffic on Jane St. near King Road.

York Regional Police first reported the animal loose around 9 a.m. Friday morning, not far from the 400.

A Twitter user wondered if this could be another stunt from a PR company after a "shark" was spotted in Lake Ontario earlier this week, but police said it wasn't completely out of the question that a farm animal could be wandering the roads. It didn't take long for the cow to return home.
