Boy, 8, with serious head injury after being hit by vehicle

Injury not considered to be life-threatening

An eight-year-old boy is in hospital with a serious head injury after being hit by a vehicle in East York.

Toronto EMS says it happened outside a highrise at 35 Thorncliffe Park Dr just after noon on Sunday.

The boy was rushed to the Hospital for Sick Children.  While his injuries are serious, they are not considered to be life-threatening and he has been stabilized.

Seven-year-old Georgie Walsh died last week after being hit by minivan at Millwood Ave and McRae Dr in Leaside. Parents have been sounding the alarm about drivers speeding through the intersection for months. The crossing is a busy one with a playground, community centre, library, summer camps, tennis courts and a baseball diamond nearby.

Georgia's funeral is set for Monday.

Two Children hit by cars in a few days. What does MPP and Premier Kathleen Wynne have to say? Sad.

@east yorker Why? Was the Premier driving the car?
You're not very nice using children's tragedy's as a platform for your political crap.
