New info released in murder of Toronto-born professor

A police report says that Dan Markel was shot in the head in his garage

Tallahassee police have released a report that gives more details into the shooting death of Toronto-born law professor Dan Markel.

Police say the Florida State University professor was shot in the head while in his garage some time between 10:45 a.m. and 11:02 a.m. on July 18. 

Markel's keys were inside his car, with the doors unlocked. 

Police say there were no signs of forced entry, so Markel may have known his attacker. 

A photo of a vehicle of interest has also been released (see below). A witness had told police that a white or silver car had left the area around the time of the shooting. 

A funeral was held for the 41-year-old in Toronto on Thursday.
