Waterfront trails and parks, and the possibility of a year round music venue.

Those are just some of the highlights of the new plan for Ontario Place.

The park will be a mixed used space, with open parks along with shopping and dining.

      The one thing missing: condos.

The provincial government, meanwhile did discuss the possibility of a year round music venue at the site.

They have committed 100 million dollars to get the park ready for the transformation.

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Michael Coteau says construction is expected to begin soon on the first phase of the project, a new urban park and waterfront trail expected to open next year.

No timeline was released for the other projects, but Coteau says they will start with an environmental assessment.
