Four people, including one child and a teenager, are in hospital with non life-threatening injuries after they were struck by lightning in Morningside Park.

Toronto EMS says three of the victims are in serious condition and one suffered minor injuries.

A witness tells CP24, they were sitting at a picnic table under a tree when they were hit.

While paramedics were on their way to the scene, the ambulance they were travelling in was struck by a nearby tree.

No one was injured, but the vehicle was forced to go out of service.
