Police want pics, videos from VELD

Officers are still trying to figure out what was in the drugs that killed is believed to have killed two and made 13 others ill...

Toronto police are appealing to the public to send them any videos or photos they might have from a weekend concert in Toronto where two people died of suspected drug overdose.

Thirteen others who attended the Veld Music Festival in Downsview Park were also taken to hospital.

Police on Tuesday identified the drugs as a small brown pill and a small clear capsule.

They said the cause of the deaths have yet to be determined.

Police had earlier urged anyone who may have bought the drug to turn it over so experts can analyze the substance.

Det. Sgt. Peter Trimble says several people have since turned over the drugs.

Toronto cops are so incompetent. Paid a fortune by taxpayers yet they always seem to be reacting too late and not pro-active like they should be. Fact is - it's their job to be pro-active. If these drugs were being picked up off the ground then why would Toronto cops need someone else to turn them in to be analyzed. IMO any idiot in law enforcement should have known that drugs of this type would have been readily available at this concert. They should have had multiple undercover cops in the crowd. Duh. IDIOTS. It's not like they have anything better to do other than pestering soccer moms for petty speeding tickets.

So sad that under Blair, I, my friends, and my most of my well healed Hogs Hollow neighbors have lost all respect for Toronto cops. G20, Sammy, unnecessary strip searches, a perception of being lazy, and general incompetence has created that poor perception.

Oh well, Fantino was also a dick.

@Mark You're right on all counts but keep in mind that the police are not involved in crime prevention...they show up only after a crime has been committed. Police are there to catch the perps and enforce the laws.

Blair should be in jail, Fantino belongs in a 19'th century museum exhibit.
