A motorcyclist is being airlifted to a Toronto hospital after a crash in Mississauga.

Police say he was hit by a vehicle on Watline Ave, near Hurontario St and Hwy 401, at about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Const Fiona Thivierge says the rider was conscious and talking when paramedics arrived. He was taken to a local hospital for assessment.

That is when it was decided to upgrade his condition to critical and he was airlifted to a trauma centre.

The major collision bureau is investigating the accident.
