A three-year-old is in serious, but stable, condition in Sick Kids hospital after falling from a second-floor window in Whitby.

Durham Regional police say the young boy was playing on a bed against a the window when the screen gave way on Sunday afternoon. After rolling off the roof, the child fell about 15 feet to the concrete below.

Called around 4 p.m., paramedics found the boy conscious at the home in the Winchester Road East and Thickson Road neighbourhood.

Police do not suspect foul play.
