Man hit by St Clair streetcar dies in hospital

A 68-year-old man was hit near Lansdowne Ave on Thursday, August 7th at about 10 p.m.

A 68-year-old man has died in hospital, just over a week after he was hit by a streetcar.

The man suffered head injuries when he was hit on St Clair Ave W at Lansdowne Ave at about 10 p.m. on Thursday, August 7th.

Police say the victim was standing in the centre of the streetcar right-of-way with another man. For unknown reasons, the 68-year-old man stepped back into the path of the streetcar.

He died in hospital on Saturday.

The other man was also hit, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
