A woman, believed to be in her 40s, was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital after she was hit by a van in Scarborough.

She was struck while crossing Midland Road near Finch Avenue area around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say she suffered head injuries and remained in critical condition overnight.

The driver of the van remained on the scene.
