A 34 year old Grade 8 teacher at a school in Toronto is facing sex assault charges, after allegations from a 13 year old male student.

Toronto police arrested Joseph Diletto Wednesday night and he's since been charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation and sexual interference.

Police say they can't say more about the allegations, to both protect the identity of the student in question, and to maintain the credibility of the investigation.

Diletto was released on $2500 bail Thursday morning.

The Toronto District School Board says the Hollycrest Middle School teacher will be on home assignement as the investigation continues.
