UPDATE: Environment Canada confirms two tornadoes touched down near Windsor

Storm in Erin Wednesday night is also being looked at

Environment Canada says they can now confirm that two tornadoes have touched down near Windsor this week.

This after warning preparedness meteorologist Jeff Coulson told NEWS TALK 1010 that they sent crews to investigate damage to barns and trees in Essex County after storms went through the area Tuesday night.  No one was reported injured.

They are also looking at storms Wednesday night where photos of possible funnel clouds made the rounds in Erin, in the southern part of Wellington County.

They've heard of no damage from that storm, but will be looking into the reports.

Coulson says that we've had 15 confirmed tornadoes in Ontario so far this year, and on average we see about 12.
