One person dead in crash on QEW

Three-vehicle collision on the Toronto-bound lanes

One person is dead following a multi-vehicle crash on the Toronto-bound QEW in Burlington.

The accident happened around 4:30 Monday afternoon.

Ornge confirms one person was ejected in the crash and a woman in her 30s was taken to a Hamilton hospital with head and chest injuries.

The OPP says the highway at Burloak Drive is expected to remain closed for the next three to four hours as police investigate.

This is the second accident on the Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW.

Just at 12 p.m. on Monday a garbage truck rolled over near Guelph Line.

The 60-year old driver was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries.

Two lanes on the QEW and the southbound Guelph Line ramp remained closed through afternoon rush hour.
