UPDATE: Man struck and killed by train in Toronto

Toronto EMS say they were called to Runnymeade and Dundas around 2 o'clock on Wednesday...

Toronto EMS has confirmed a person is dead after being hit by a train near Runnymeade and Dundas.

The call came in just before 2 o'clock, and the patient was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toronto Police tells our Bell Media partners, that the operators of the train didn't even know they'd struck anyone until they reached their destination in Milton.

The trains could have been going around 100 km/h at the moment of impact.

The man struck is believed to be about 36 years old but nothing on a name.

At this point, police are calling it a death by misadventure.
