Toronto Police are appealing to the public, looking for photos or videos that could help them solve the city's latest murder.

Toronto EMS was called to a gas station near Wellington St W and Spadina Ave at 3:12 a.m. Tuesday. That's where they found a man who had been shot 5-6 times. He was rushed to hospital where he is in serious, but non-life threatening condition.

The male victim is "known to police."

A 31 year-old woman was also found outside of C-Lounge Nightclub on Wellington, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Jelena Loncar was pronounced dead in hospital.

Police at 14 Division can't say for sure that Loncar was an innocent bystander, but said it appears that way.

Loncar, who grew up in Niagara Falls had reportedly just finished her shift working at Hunter's Landing restaurant. A cousin tells the St. Catharines Standard Loncar was at C-Lounge to wish a friend happy birthday.

Police are asking anyone with photos or video that may be related to the shooting to upload them here.

Toronto Police are searching for a white, Chrysler 300 with five or six young men inside. They are also after a second car--an older model dark-coloured Altima, possibly green.

If only we had Olivia Chow as mayor so she could institute her gun ban, and this type of thing would not be happening.

@Murray_2008 OR...if Adam Vaughan were still a councillor and his bullets ban would have been in place. Naturally there would have been bullet detectors at all entrances to the city in order to enforce this intelligent by-law.

The bastard that killed her should rot in jail until she is revived, ie. rest of his life. These pieces of garbage have no regard for human life and don't ever deserve to live in our society. While we're at it he should be castrated to ensure he can't breed more criminals.

@AbbyW Banning guns or bullets will not solve this killing issue, gangsters will still find a way to get the guns.

The law and sentencing is too lax in Canada that these people are not afraid to commit crimes or killings.

Turf the YOA, and start sentencing youth criminals as adult..

Try adopting the Singapore laws here . that is canning you will have human rights advocates complaining.. that it is inhuman..

      now go figure.. .

@dama I was being facetious and presume Murray was as well.

@AbbyW Yes I was, seemed obvious enough.

@dama They have much longer and harsher sentences in the U.S. We often hear of people being given 2 and 3 life sentences. It hasn't helped. This does not mean I'm not in favour of harsher sentences...Just an observation.

@IsobelF If one criminal is serving 2 or 3 life sentence, then he will not be committing any more offences, isn't it? So that's is a good

The Canadian system, even life sentence, you can be paroled after 10 or 15 years.. so life sentence is a joke here..

Murray_2008 do you think banning guns will stop people from getting illegal guns? give your head a double shake for also thinking Olivia Chow is good for Toronto.

A promoter on King West gave us passes last night to C-Lounge, luckily I didn't go. All I know is that it was an Industry Night party, didn't think it would be a violent night.

@ToddK_2 Some of us figured out Murray was being facetious. What industry, gangbangers? Drug dealers?

Hope the scumbag that did this isn't long for this world.

@AbbyW You can be facetious, but in this situation,, it is a serious matter.. ,not that is happening once in a blue moon,, it is happening very often.. so no time to treat this lightly..

Rather the police be pro-active patrolling the nite club district
to discurage more killings and pull the license of any nite club that has re-occurring problems or disturbances..

and I am not being facetious..

@dama Yes it is a serious matter, and the purpose of my comments was to illustrate that idiotic statements by people like Chow and Vaughan make the problem worse as they detract from what needs to be done to stop this senselessness.

      Hug a thug doesn't work!

@AbbyW Hehe, give it up, Abby. Not everyone operates at our stratospheric levels! If you are subtle or facetious, a lot of people just won't get it.

You folks have it all wrong. If we really want to see these murders come to an end we need to create a list of all the really powerful rifles and shotguns that people own across the country. That way if the police enter a household they will know whether there is a hunting firearm in the residence and can prepare themselves accordingly. I predict no killings like this will ever happen again in our city.

@IBLeaf You mean, like, a long gun registry of some sort??

Man, if only we had one of those, right? THAT would get the guns out of the hands of the criminals.
