Comedic legend Joan Rivers is reportedly fighting for her life in a New York hospital.

Reports indicate Rivers was undergoing a throat surgery on her vocal chords, when she stopped breathing.

There are few details, but reports indicate the actor and comedienne's heart may have stopped during the procedure.

Reports indicate she was originally sent to hospital in critical condition, but has since stabilized.

Rivers is 81 years old.

    I hope she gets over this as she has always been a hard worker and not been given anything for free. Her work ethic, even at her age, is something to applaud.
