Mayoral campaign to itensify this month as election draws near

First week of September promises to be a busy one for candidates

The mayoral campaign is expected to pick up as the election draws closer.

Candidate Olivia Chow says she sill make a signficiant announcement Tuesday morning.

Mayor Rob Ford will unveil his transit strategy sometime before Friday.

A number of debates are also scheduled for this week.

Jeff Silverstein, Mr. Ford’s director of communications, confirmed on Monday evening that the mayor will not attend debates held by Greenwood Community Association on Tuesday and FilmOntario on Wednesday.

But John Tory, David Soknacki and Chow are all expected to attend.

Election day is October 27th.
