A lot of people are calling and e-mailing to ask about the book I mentioned this morning. It's called Camp X and it was written by Eric Walters. It's the story of a couple of kids who stumble across Camp X, the spy facility where 500 spies were trained for deployment during the Second World War. The book was written for young readers so it's a great way to introduce kids to a Canadian tale that reads like an adventure book.Full Blog
What is left of the camp is in decay because this country seems to spend more time and money apologizing for past horrors than it does trying to commemorate the good we have done in the world.

The Great Tunnel Debate
Two prominent Torontonians, on both sides of the Toronto Island Airport debate, squared off on Moore in the Morning today. Mark McQueen, chair of Toronto's Port Authority, wants to construct a tunnel connecting the Toronto Island Airport to the mainland. Adam Vaughan, City Councillor in Ward 20 feels the tunnel is unneeded and poses unnecessary risk to Toronto's harbour.
Things got heated as both parties attempted to convince our listeners what option is best for Toronto.

Along with the Government of Canada's commitment to match the contributions of individual Canadians to charitable organizations in response to the earthquake in Haiti, the total amount raised surpasses $1.5 million."We are moved by the solidarity listeners from all regions of the country have shown for the emergency efforts of Red Cross volunteers in Haiti and we thank them," said Jacques Parisien, President of Astral Media Radio and Astral Media Outdoor.
‘'The compassion and generosity of the Canadian public, government and businesses such as Astral Media in response to the Haiti earthquake has been immediate and overwhelming,'' said Conrad Sauvé, Secretary General and CEO of the Canadian Red Cross. ‘'With three million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance in Haiti, we encourage more Canadians to join our donors in providing essential cash assistance to rapidly deliver aid, restore hope and invest in rebuilding Haiti's future.''
