A new group has sprung up to represent taxpayers and union members who would rather not be beholden to the union bosses.
Counter to the union group called Working Families Coalition, Working Canadians, "wants to raise awareness about the influence of union bosses," according to an article in the Star.
Union supporters will characterize the PC's promise to let people opt out of unions as a sop to the business community, but in Wisconsin, when workers were finally given that right after a bitter and vicious fight, huge numbers of unionized public workers immediately dropped their membership.
Letting people direct their own representation and future is only the right thing to do. Forcing people into membership is totalitarian, anti-freedom and - I would hope - anti-Canadian.
