Domestic violence viral video

The message is clear and the issue is important - but with a huge community of people worried about this anonymous woman, has the video done more harm than good?

Apparently, she is not anonymous. She is a Croatian (former) model named Mia Hujić, doing a PSA for awareness of violence towards women.

There is an article in a Romanian magazine about this.

Assuming that the web link displays properly, here is the link directly from Google Translate:

    http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ro&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mediasinfo.ro%2Fmia-hujic-fost-model-socheaza-cu-o-campanie-impotriva-violentei-domestice-video%2F2013%2F03%2F22%2F

If that doesn't work, put this address into the translation box in Google Translate, select Romanian as the language, then press Translate:

I agree that this ad is doing more harm than good, if for no other reason than that it made hundreds of thousands of people believe that this was a real person genuinely pleading for help. ("Help me, I don't know if I can wait for tomorrow", roughly translated)

Advocates for abused women say "This is happening every day", which I don't argue with, but maybe the end of the video should have had something saying that it was a PSA.

I suppose that it wouldn't have gone viral if it was honestly displayed as such, but that doesn't make it right.
