R-EF You
What is a touch-ception or an inter-down?Conflicting calls sent the NFL world into a tizzy Monday night. I am now working on a script starring Rob Schneidner and Tracy Morgan that will be so bad that the replacement refs will give it 2 thumbs up.
Don't tell me who won the game, that would ruin it, and we both know that's the replacement refs job. This NFL season should have an asterisk beside it. The hodge podge of want to be zebras have made more questionable calls than Dalton McGinty at election time .... scratch that then Ryan Doyle at last call.
You'd think Roger Goodell would take the integrity of the NFL game seriously. He rightfully ravaged the New Orleans saints after a headhunting scandal because it reflected badly on the game. How is hiring rejects for the Lingere Football League NOT worse?
After Monday nights results in the final play between Seattle and Green Bay it's amazing that Cheeseheads aren't rioting outside the refs consulate. Pundits are calling for the commissioner to end the standoff immediately. One State Sen. even tweeted out the commish's number. I'm shocked that Goodell not only upheld the win but also refused to apologize for the state of the game. That makes my new fantasy football just the old refs. I mean wrestling refs think these replacements suck.
Toronto fans know what it's like to get burned. When you invest your hard-earned time and money for a product that doesn't cut it you have to wonder if the people running the league have more brain-damaged than some of the players.
I hate to side with unions but this is a $10 billion league and a $16 million problem. The refs make about $150,000 a year and are concerned the NFL is moving their pension to a 401(k) at the whim of the markets and no longer protected by their employer. The cost of covering the pension is $16 million. $16 for a very healthy and growing NFL. I'd say the NFL has done more than $16 million damage to itself with these refs over the last four weeks.
However; in the refs defence they were standing right there and had 15 minutes to review the video; also, the Packers could've put more than 12 points on the board.
