A night at the Yacht Club

You know me, I am always up for a new experience (okay...with the exception of sky diving. I just can't do it). So when I got an invitation to a cocktail party this week at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club I just couldn't say no. It's fun to clench your jaw and pretend that everyone at the RCYC is named Skipp and Muffy but actually, in spite of the Great Gatsbyesque lawns and main house, the place seems mostly to be populated by people of all stripes who just like boating. And to be honest only about a third seem to actually own boats. For the rest of the members it seems to be a substitute for a cottage and a place to plant the kids around a pool on a hot Saturday afternoon.

For us it was a great chance to sip a little bubbly and soak in what has to be the most spectacular view on our city there is on offer.

You casn check out a gallery of Geoge Pimental's photos of the event here
