  • “Pixels” feels lazy, as though it was too much work to make the video game warrior aspect anything more than a sentimental gimmick
  • I guess it shouldn’t be that surprising that a movie about a boxer’s fall from grace and subsequent redemption are handled in a heavy handed way. "Southpaw" is a solid sports redemption movie but lacks punching power
  • A coming-of-age-mystery-love story-road trip-romance about a teenage boy and the mysterious girl of his dreams
  • Despite appealing performances from all, the story feels like a talky celebration of Abe’s dysfunction—the poor tortured genius—than a true study of a person pushed to extremes in search of happiness
  • “American Heist” makes off with some screen time but little else of interest in a generic thriller starring Adrien Brody and Hayden Christensen as brothers bonded by a criminal past
