Impaired driving arrests are climbing in Toronto.
With three days still remaining in 2016 the number of people accused of getting behind the wheel after drinking or doing drugs is higher than last year.
There are plenty of drivers accused of doing just that...after having too many holiday beverages.
A dozen drivers were taken off the roads between December 24th and December 26th for drinking and driving while none were busted for drugs.
Toronto Police Cst. Clint Stibbe points out that at this time last year there had been 1,357.
That number already stands at 1,375 this year.
This year, so far, 87 have been arrested for driving while high on drugs compared to only three last year.
New legislation, improved testing, and overall awareness has likely helped push that number higher.
