Peel Police tell NEWSTALK 1010 they are trying track down a dog and the owner after a young girl was left with critical injuries following an attack at a Mississauga dog park over the weekend.
The girl is listed in critical but stable condition at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, and it's expected she will survive her injuries.
She was with her parents in an off-leash area of the Parkway Belt dog park near Eglinton and the 403 when she was attacked by a large black and white husky after 4 p.m. on Sunday.
It's unclear what led up to the attack.
Police tell NEWSTALK 1010 that charges are possible and they now need to track down the dog and it's owner.
The owner is described as a South Asian man in his early 20's who was wearing orange shorts at the time of the attack.
He spoke briefly to the parents but left before paramedics arrived.
