Around 40 thousand smoke alarms have been recalled in Canada, over concerns the product may not be able to detect smoke.
Two Kidde dual-sensor smoke alarms, made between September of 2016 and October of 2017, are included in the recall. They have the model numbers PI2010CA and PI9010CA.
At issue is a yellow cap over one of the two smoke sensors. That cap may mean the product may no longer be able to detect smoke.
The company has not reported any incidents or injuries associated with the smoke alarms.
A further 450 thousand products have been recalled in the US.
The alarms that are the subject of this recall, were sold in this country, between November of 2016 and January of 2018.
