Toronto Police are warning the public about a batch of dangerous drugs being sold in the downtown core.
Since Thursday, August 2, 2018, seven people have died of drug overdoses. While police officers have been called to deal with a number of overdoses - the seven fatalities happened within the boundaries of 14 division.
It's believed that the drugs responsible are a deadly batch of fentanyl or carfentanil. Carfentanil is especially dangerous and is 100 times more potent than fentanyl.
Police are advising the public that if fentanyl or carfentanil users encounter serious physical illness, they should immediately head to a hospital emergency room or a walk-in clinic for treatment.
