For a second night in a row, a pedestrian has been struck and killed on Toronto streets.
Tuesday night, a male was struck near the intersection of Danforth Avenue and Pharmacy Avenue at around 8:45 and later died in hospital.
Toronto Police Const. Dave Hopkinson told NEWSTALK 1010 it was evident the injuries suffered by the victim were serious.
"We had medics attend and they did consider the injuries life-threatening. The victim was taken to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and pronounced deceased."
Hopkinson confirmed the vehicle involved did remain at the scene.
Traffic Services were on scene to reconstruct the collision.
The intersection was expected to be closed between four and six hours.
41 pedestrians were killed on Toronto streets in 2018. So far this year the number is now up to 27.
