John Heard, best known as Peter McAllister in the “Home Alone” movies who appeared in a wide range of TV and film roles, has died at 72 in Palo Alto, Calif.
TMZ is reporting his body was found in a hotel where he was recovering from "minor back surgery" he had on Wednesday at Standford Medical Center.
Police were called to the scene Friday for a medical emergency. Heard was pronounced dead at the scene. TMZ reports foul play is not suspected.
The Santa Clara Medical Examiner’s office confirmed his death.
John Heard also appeared in "Big" and "Beaches" and was nominated for an Emmy for his role on "The Sopranos."
John Heard also appeared in “Cat People,” “After Hours,” “Big,” “Beaches,” “Gladiator,” and on TV in “Miami Vice” and “The Sopranos,” for which he was nominated for an Emmy.
Heard was briefly married to fellow actor and Canadian Margot Kidder.
