Actress Valerie Harper has died after battling cancer for years. She was 80 years-old.
People of a certain age will remember Harper well as "Rhoda Morgenstern" on the "Mary Tyler Moore Show". She went on to star in the spin-off "Rhoda".
She had been in declining health since she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2009.
In 2013, she was given three months to live after she was diagnosed with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, which is a rare condition in which cancer cells spread to the membranes surrounding the brain.
But she defied the odds, after she underwent chemotherapy.
In 2013, she even competed on 'Dancing with the Stars'. She spoke openly about her battle with cancer.
She made headlines again this past July after her family launched a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for her medical care.
She is survived by her husband and daughter.
